I beleive that technology should be included in all school subjects. It doesn't matter how much technology students use just as long as they use some, because technology is starting to become a everyday thing that people are having to deal with. Technology could be used in big ways like making classroom blogs and classroom discussions, or in small ways like making a school Twitter account. I want my students to have a good technology learning experience, so that they would want to use it everyday. My goal as a teacher would be for my students to use technology to express themselves, and be involoved in discussion. In my opinion I think that is the most important thing. For example, I might have my students set up a blog about themselves, and then have everyone post positive comments or questions on everyone's blog. This would be a great way for students to get to know each other.
Everyone likes to talk and write about themselves, so this would be a good venue for introductions. It is also a good place to learn how to draw the line between one's private life and public information!

Making a blog for each student is a good idea! It will also boost self-esteem!
ReplyDeleteThat is definitely a good way to get positive thoughts flowing between all of the students! Technology can also be incorporated in small ways in all subjects; maybe even down to a device as simple as a step counter in P.E.
ReplyDeleteI feel like this would be a great way for kids who do have troubles at home or school have something to look at and say"Hey I am a good kid and I know this because people still like me." I feel like this could change many mindsets of children from the jokesters to the smartest kid in the class.
ReplyDeleteLike everyone else seems to think, I believe that your ideas could produce some positive effects in your classroom. I think that if students are taught how to be positive towards others, maybe there would be less cyberbullying because the subject has been approached by teachers.
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! It would be a great way for students to express themselves in a very private yet social way. They would be able to talk about themselves and not feel judged, as they might in a classroom setting. Great idea Kylie! :)
ReplyDeleteI love that you would have the other kids post positive things. Words of affirmation just really help boost confidence. I feel like the kids would really enjoy and even look forward to getting to type about themselves and see what the other kids have to say. It might even get them excited about school and schoolwork.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a good idea to have them set up their own personal blogs and have each other post positive comments about themselves. This ensures that they will begin to be more self confident about their ideas!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the students creating their own blog and having everyone post positive comments about them! Not only does it allow them to get to know each other, but it also helps to boost everyone's self-esteem!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea. Using all the different technology to help your students out is a good way to help students better understand the material and like Brittany said to boost their self-esteem.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of having the students make a blog entirely about themselves!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of each child setting up a personal blog and having the others make a positive comment. This helps the child learn respect for others and their feelings.
ReplyDeleteI agree students need to be introduced to technology. Whether we as teachers want it to be included technology is used in everyday life in these years.
ReplyDeleteTechnology is great for students to learn how to use. Technology is advancing everyday and will be more a part of our students lives in the future.
ReplyDeleteThe students posting about their life is a good way for other to get to know them better, and I also having that positive in that environment.
ReplyDeleteClassroom discussion through blogging is a great idea. Students would enjoy this. I agree that students must become familiar with technology at some level.
